What does a Volunteer do?
You choose the activities in which you are most interested.
Direct Patient Contact:
- personal visits
- provide care-givers with respite time
- run errands
- write letters
- read to a patient
- listen and share stories
Fund Raising:
- assist in yearly mailings
- represent the agency at public events
- spear head new fund raisers
Office Support:
- typing, filing
- computer data entry
- media work
- letter writing
Training
This enlightening class offers education in the Hospice Philosophy, grief and loss, medical issues, family dynamics and the role of the volunteer with end-of-life care.
Office volunters complete an orientation specific to the project in which they are interested.
