What does a Volunteer do?
You choose the activities in which you are most interested.

Direct Patient Contact:

  • personal visits
  • provide care-givers with respite time
  • run errands
  • write letters
  • read to a patient
  • listen and share stories

Fund Raising:

  • assist in yearly mailings
  • represent the agency at public events
  • spear head new fund raisers

Office Support:

  • typing, filing
  • computer data entry
  • media work
  • letter writing

Training

This enlightening class offers education in the Hospice Philosophy, grief and loss, medical issues, family dynamics and the role of the volunteer with end-of-life care.

Office volunters complete an orientation specific to the project in which they are interested.
